First Quarter Students
- 18 x 24 drawing pad, smooth paper with spiral binding
- woodless pencil 4b or 6b or regular pencil as soft
- soft vine charcoal or soft compressed charcoal
- conte sticks (not pencils) in black, brown and rust
- soft white pastel by rembrandt
- assortment of erasers - rub-kleen, magic rub (rectangle and pencil form), pink pearl, etc.
and at least one eraser with plasti as part of name, this will feel harder
- kleenex
- viewer - empty slide cardboard
- hand sharpener optional (you will need this if you get the magic rub eraser in the pencil
form)
- very fine point black magic marker - polyester tip
- 3 large bulldog clips
Optional
Workable fixative - Myston by Grumbacher - great finish & holding power
I RECOMMEND BINDER’S OR UTRECHT
Second Quarter Students
- 1 - 1” or 3/4” Loew-Cornell #275 or Silver Sky Wash #5619S, if not available try Robert Simmons Oval Wash 752 3/4” or Princeton Oval Wash 3/4”
- 1 - round, soft synthetic brush size 4 or 5
- india ink
- brown ink
- rust ink
- yellow orche or raw sienna
Higgins, Pelican, are good names in inks, these are what the colors look like, not the names. FW or Speedry Magic Color White Inks are better than other white inks.
Char-Kole - square sticks - made by Alpha Color, Etc.
