Join our friend Emmett Hobbes, the creator of the queer-caper Webtoon Royale a one-time workshop on developing characters that are more than just pretty faces. A good design tells us who a character is, what they like, where they came from, and where they’re going–with maybe a little bit of mystery thrown in there, too.

About Your Instructor:
Emmett Hobbes (he/him) has been making comics since he could read. While pursuing a BFA in Sequential Art at SCAD, he signed on to illustrate My Riot, a coming-of-age graphic novel about girl punks in the 90s. His work can also be seen in The Sweaty Palms Anthology, Rick and Morty: Ever After, the occasional variant cover, and in the Webtoon Original Royale: The Prussian Blue. When writing, he tends to center characters who are Remarkably Well-Adjusted Given Their Circumstances (which isn’t saying much).
